A blog of our travels and adventures exploring the wild, rugged, and oh so beautiful province of Newfoundland. There are many great things to see and do here, and I'd like to share the ones I find with you.

2014 St. John's Downtown Santa Claus Parade
The St. John's Downtown Santa Claus Parade was held on November 30 for thousands of excited kids of all ages. The parade was populated by many different groups enthusiastically sharing their Christmas spirit. Here are some pictures of some of the walking (marching, dancing, riding) groups that participated:
Floats are a parade staple, and it looks like the community responded quickly to the call for more floats that went out before the parade. Clearly a lot of effort went into these crowd favourites:
Not to be overlooked, there were also a number of interesting guests and characters in the parade - some two-legged, some four:
And, of course, there was the star of the parade, the man we all waited for, the beloved red-suited Santa himself!
A fabulous parade on a beautiful day. Can't wait for next year! There's lots of Christmas spirit to be Found in Newfoundland!
